Washington, DC, October 07, 2008 - October 12 to 18 is National Reflexology Week, National East Coast Coordinator Dr. Njideka N. Olatunde of Washington, DC has organized members of national reflexology organizations in Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia to come together for a national celebration in honor of an ancient healing art that is making outstanding contributions in relieving the untold stress many Americans are facing.

Dr. Njideka N. Olatunde, founder and director of Focus On Healing Reflexology Institute in Washington D.C., has been a pioneer and leader in introducing reflexology as a preventive health care approach in achieving wellness. It is through the hard work and dedication, of Dr. Olatunde, in the field of reflexology that Prince George's County in Maryland and Washington, DC has proclaimed October 12 to 18 National Reflexology Week along with many other counties and states.







All across American celebrations are being planned with Reflexologists donating time and services during National Reflexology Week. In the Washington, DC metro area reflexologist are during workshops, providing services at senior centers, employee wellness programs and organizational health expos.

During, this time of celebrating reflexology and the many reflexologists who are making major contributions in the alternative health care community.

If you are not familiar with reflexology, it is a scientific art of specific reflex points found on the hands and feet that correspond to all the parts of the body for stress reduction, relaxation, pain management which cause a physiological change in the body for optimum wellness. A reflexology session is considered to be the next best thing to full a body massage.
